How We Keep Clients in the Loop During Construction

Building a custom home in Southern Utah is an exciting process, but it can also feel overwhelming without clear communication. At Madsen Homes, we make it a priority to keep clients informed every step of the way, so they can feel confident that their project is progressing smoothly.
Clear, Consistent Communication
Our clients receive updates through multiple channels, email, phone calls, and text messages. Text updates are sent at least once a week, often accompanied by photos of the project. Even in weeks where visible progress is limited, we ensure clients know what has been accomplished, whether it’s work behind the scenes or preparation for upcoming phases.

Progress Updates and Highlights
We keep clients informed about both day-to-day progress and major milestones. While we provide weekly updates on ongoing work, we also highlight particularly exciting moments, such as when framing is complete or a unique design feature is installed. This approach ensures clients feel connected to the project without needing to manage the construction themselves.
Client Involvement in Decisions
Before construction begins, we finalize the design, scope of work, and budget. Most decisions about materials, finishes, and aesthetics are made during this design phase. For items that require on-site information, such as landscaping or allowance-based features, we involve clients at the appropriate time. Clients approve decisions that impact aesthetics or functionality, while our team handles the day-to-day building, coordinating subcontractors, and resolving any unexpected issues. When client input is needed, we provide clear instructions and guidance so decisions are straightforward.

Design Workbook Document
To provide a clear reference, each client receives a detailed Design Workbook document. This includes both written information and images of what is included in the project based on the approved budget. Once signed along with the build contract, this document acts as a reference throughout construction, helping clients understand what to expect and reducing surprises.
Maintaining Transparency and Confidence
Our goal is to make the building process as seamless and transparent as possible. Regular updates, clear communication, and well-documented plans help clients feel informed, confident, and connected to their project without needing to manage the construction themselves.
