How long does it take to build a custom home in Southern Utah?
Most builds take less than a year once the design phase is complete, though the timeline depends on the size of the home, the specific lot, and any ACC (Architectural Control Committee) requirements that may apply to your neighborhood.
What is included in the design phase?
During the design phase, our talented team will help you take your vision and turn it into tangible pieces that will make it come to life. Once we have all of the design elements, a full set of architectural plans, and any other details you want included, we will create a complete design workbook and matching budget for you to review before breaking ground.
How do I know if I'm a good fit for a custom build vs. a spec home?
If you are happy with a prebuilt home, minimal to no wait time for the build to finish, and love the way the home has been designed, then a spec home is perfect for you! If you’d rather be more involved, have the opportunity to make your own selections, and have in depth input, then a custom home is best for you.
How soon can we start?
We can start having conversations today. The design process can start as soon as we have a signed Design Contract.
How involved will I be during construction?
During the construction phase, we take care of everything. We will send out weekly updates on the progress and keep you informed of anything needed from you (any selections that need to be finalized, any changes that need to be made because of things that come up during construction or because of discontinued materials, and anything else that may need your opinion).
What happens if I want to make changes mid-build?
Changes mid-build happen. You see something you like better or you realize you really don’t like the tile you chose. These will be handled with a change order which will include a change in cost and schedule (if work has already been done, then the cost will be higher because of the demo, needing to purchase additional materials, and other factors). If you happen to choose a cheaper material or design, you will have a cost savings and the budget will be updated to reflect that. The good news is that not every change order costs you money.
